What is the Offline Data Encoders & Generators?
This page is a router for several small conversion tools: depending on the method in the URL, it loads a Windows FILETIME converter, a hash calculator, a JSON formatter, or a generic text encoder/decoder covering formats like Base64, hex, URL-encoding, UTF-16 escapes, and SAML's deflate+Base64 scheme.
How it works
The method route segment picks which component renders — filetime for FILETIME-to-date conversion, hashes for hash calculation, json for formatting and validating JSON — and anything else falls through to a text encoder/decoder that switches on that same string to run the matching browser API, such as btoa/atob for Base64 or CompressionStream for SAML's raw-deflate encoding.
SysAdmin & security use cases
- Convert a Windows Active Directory pwdLastSet or lastLogonTimestamp FILETIME value into a readable date.
- Hash a string or short file to compare it against a known checksum.
- Base64-decode a SAML AuthnRequest captured from a login redirect.
- Reformat a large, minified JSON API response into readable, indented text.
